LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular  gasoline in
Los Angeles County dropped a half-cent today to $4.696, the second  consecutive decline following a seven-day streak of increases that pushed the  average price to a record high.

The average price is 34.9 cents more than one week ago, 52 cents higher  than one month ago and 88.1 cents greater than one year ago, according to  figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price dropped four-tenths of a cent on Wednesday. It rose  50.4 cents during the streak of increases.

The Orange County average price fell today for the third consecutive day  following a six-day streak of increases, totaling 51.3 cents, that pushed it  to a record high.

The Orange County average price dropped 1.1 cents today to $4.669, 33.9  cents more than one week ago, 51.4 cents higher than one month ago and 88 cents  greater than one year ago. 

The Orange County average price decreased nine-tenths of a cent on  Wednesday and one-tenth of a cent on Tuesday.
