A conservative student group is blasting Texas A&M University for its “leftist bias” after actor Danny  Glover made controversial claims regarding the Second Amendment at a school  event.

The “Lethal Weapon” star said the amendment was created to protect against  slave revolts and help keep land from Native Americans, at a breakfast honoring  Martin Luther King Jr. on Jan. 17.

“I don’t know if people know the genesis of the right to bear arms,” Glover  said. “The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect, to protect  themselves from slave revolts and from uprisings from Native Americans.”

“A revolt from people who were stolen from their land or revolt from people  whose land was stolen from – that’s what the genesis of the Second Amendment  is.”
