With one of the most important elections in our history just weeks away, the Macedonia Baptist Church Political Action Committee will host a town hall at 7 p.m., October 18, 2012, to ensure that the Watts community is well informed about November 6 ballot initiatives and candidates.
The “Repairing the Breach: Strategizing for the Future of Watts” town hall meeting will be held at The Historic Sanctuary of the Macedonia Baptist Church, 1751 E. 114 Street, Los Angeles. It will feature a lively discussion with the Rev. Cecil “Chip” Murray, Congresswoman Laura Richardson (D-CA-37th), Congresswoman Janice Hahn (D-CA-36th), and Los Angeles City Councilwoman and mayoral candidate Jan Perry.
Acclaimed author and talk radio personality Morris O’Kelly of KFI’s The Mo’ Kelly Show, will moderate the forum.
The town hall will provide an opportunity for Watts community members to discuss issues which matter most to them; including housing, health care, employment and education.
Macedonia Baptist Church has been a beacon light within the Watts community for more than 104 years and is under the leadership of Lead Pastor Rev. Shane B. Scott.
