A message from Wayne…It’s been a busy year here at Jail Guitar Doors. We’ve made our way to several correctional facilites in New York, Nevada, Illinois, Virginia, Oregon, West Virginia, California, and Texas to name a few. We spoke at SXSW, Seattle Sustainability Conference, and Chicago Ideas Week about mass incarceration. And along the way we had the
opportunity to meet hundreds of inmates, supporters, and activists that make
this journey worth doing. The message of Jail Guitar Doors is being heard and
we can’t thank you enough for all you have done. But we can’t rest on our
laurels, there is more work ahead of us.

We now have an additional twenty institutions completed with authorizations
awaiting the receipt of guitars and instruments.This can’t happen without your
help. We depend on the generosity of people who understand the underlying
issues of mass incarceration and the dehumanizing process of the current prison
system. In order to make a change, it takes work and it takes money.
