The Los Angeles Police Department was no long on tactical alert Friday morning. The department said it
has adequate staff on-hand to deal with suspected cop killer Christopher Dorner.

The tactical alert meant that officers had to work past their normal shifts. As the manhunt continues for Dorner, the LAPD is taking no chances when it comes to protecting officers and their families.

Police presence grew Friday at the police headquarters in downtown Los Angeles. Some officers even showed up with riot gear and flak jackets.

Police patrols also increased, but it's still a secret how many officers are involved. The LAPD has eliminated
motorcycle patrols and single-officer dispatches.
