Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly, one half of the 1990s rap duo Kris Kross, was found dead yesterday at his Atlanta home. He was 34.
Authorities say they are investigating his death as a possible drug overdose.
An official cause of death is pending an autopsy, but his mother reportedly told police that he had a "speedball," which is a combination of cocaine and heroin, the night before he was found unresponsive in his home.
Along with partner Chris "Daddy Mac" Smith, Kelly made it big in 1993 when their hit "Jump" skyrocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The duo was also well known for their signature look ---wearing their pants backwards.
They were just 13 when they were discovered in their native Atlanta by Jermaine Dupri.
