Economists say it started in 2007 and ended in 2009, but we all know this thing dragged out like marathon viewing of Homeland, with just as much terror. Now traffic info service INRIX says it has proof that L.A.'s economy is back on its feet:
The company says that a comparison of L.A. traffic from April, 2012 to last April shows that congestion increased 13 percent, which represented the 24th largest move for that period in the United States.
That's a good thing?
INRIX notes that people are getting jobs again, with L.A. unemployment going from 10 percent in spring, 2012 to about 8.4 percent now.
Voters see improvement in California economy, poll says
SACRAMENTO -- Californians’ views on the economy continue to improve despite persistent misgivings about the state’s overall direction, according to a new USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll.
Forty-nine percent of registered voters said the economy is starting to improve, up 3 percentage points from the last poll in March. Just 26% said they expected the economy to worsen, down three points in the same time period.
